We had a great time at Rocky Mountain National Park today! The views were amazing and we really enjoyed the whole trip. Hans was a fantastic guide — warm, funny, kind, and very friendly. He made the long day feel easy and fun, and was always happy to help and take care of everyone. We really appreciated his positive energy and sense of humor. Thank you, Hans, for making our trip such a wonderful and memorable experience!

Highlights

This small-group guided tour from Denver spends a full day in Rocky Mountain National Park, with a picnic lunch inside the park. Look out over the mountains from the Many Parks Curve overlook on Trail Ridge Road and walk short trails across the alluvial fan in Horseshoe Park. Watch for wildlife such as elk, deer, and marmots, and stop by the Stanley Hotel, which inspired the novel "The Shining." Groups are limited to 12 travelers.

Program

Enter Rocky Mountain National Park
via Lyons and Estes Park

Meet your guide in front of Denver Union Station and depart in an air-conditioned van. After a scenic drive through Lyons, pass through the gateway town of Estes Park on the way to Rocky Mountain National Park. Inside the park, spend about 6 hours visiting overlooks and trails, with time for photos and wildlife viewing.

Look out over alpine scenery from Trail Ridge Road

Drive up Trail Ridge Road and enjoy views above the tree line. Pause at the panoramic overlook at Many Parks Curve, a sharp bend in the road, and spend about 40 minutes at the Alpine Visitor Center.

Walk Horseshoe Park and enjoy a picnic lunch

Head to Horseshoe Park to see the alluvial fan, formed naturally by material deposited by water. Follow several short trails across meadows and past waterfalls, alpine lakes, and fragile alpine tundra while looking for elk, deer, and other wildlife. Take a break from hiking for a picnic lunch of about 40 minutes with towering mountain views.

Visit the Stanley Hotel and Estes Park

On the way back, explore the Stanley Hotel on your own for about 20 minutes, famous as the inspiration for Stephen King's novel "The Shining." Browse the galleries and shops of Estes Park, then pass through Boulder County back to Denver Union Station.

※ Some stops (Lyons, shopping in Estes Park, Boulder County, etc.) are optional depending on local conditions, and the itinerary may change.
※ Wildlife lives in its natural habitat, so sightings are not guaranteed.
