Leave your Anchorage hotel
and head to Matanuska Glacier

After pickup at your Anchorage hotel, ride in a van along the Glenn Highway for about 2 hours to the glacier. Take in the scenery of the Matanuska Valley on the way, with a short rest stop en route.

Walk on the glacier with your guide

On arrival, put on safety gear and anti-slip crampons and start hiking with an expert guide. Spend about 2 hours exploring the face of the Matanuska Glacier while your guide explains how the glacier formed and its history. See the ice formations up close and take photos.

Stop at an Alaskan lodge and return to Anchorage

After the hike, stop at a rustic Alaskan lodge nearby where you can buy lunch and dessert. Lunch is not included. After the meal, ride the van back to Anchorage.
