Our guide, Lachlan was the best part of the day 😊. He has a great demeanor and passion for this. The route he took us on was excellent. Very informative but not overwhelming. Go as far as you can for the best views and experience.

We had an excellent time on this hike. Our guide (Al) was kind and very interesting plus she accommodated our slower speed. The trail was strenuous as promised and a bit much for us. When we realized we would not reach the summit of the trail, she was very open to making a new plan that got us near the glacier instead. Aside from the wonderful conversations we had all day (Al was full of information about everything!!!!), she made sure we were comfortable and safe the whole day. And how she made the rain wait until we got into the van to go back is anyone's guess.

for Kenai Fjords National Park

Ride the KBA van from your hotel or designated pickup location in Seward to Kenai Fjords National Park. Before setting off, receive a short safety briefing and instructions from your expert guide.

Hike the backcountry along the Harding Icefield Trail

Walk a quiet trail in a small group and see backcountry scenery and ancient glaciers that are hard to reach from regular walkways. The trail offers views of the Exit Glacier and icefield, snow-capped mountains and waterfalls. A moderate level of fitness is needed to walk long distances on uneven terrain.

Look for wildlife and hear your guide's stories

Look for Alaskan wildlife such as bears, moose, hoary marmots, mountain goats and bald eagles along the trail. Your experienced guide explains the local history and geological features and answers your questions throughout the tour. Enjoy a deli-style lunch along the way and return to Seward after the hike.
