Ride the gondola up to
the summit of the Port Hills

Board a glass gondola at the base station and glide up the slopes of Mount Cavendish in the Port Hills to the summit at 445 m above sea level. On the way up, enjoy 360-degree views over the Canterbury Plains, the Southern Alps, the city of Christchurch and the harbor.

With a return ticket, you can explore the summit facilities and then ride the gondola back down. Arrive any time during opening hours, between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM.

The Discovery Ride at the summit brings the history of the region to life and is included with your ticket. It is great for children of all ages and families, and you can also browse the gift shop.

Walk the trails and relax at the Red Rock Café

Follow the nature trails around the summit on foot or by bike and take in the alpine scenery. Before or after your walk, take a break at the Red Rock Café with authentic New Zealand cuisine.
