Depart at 11:30 am from the Central City Tram Stop in Cathedral Square, Christchurch. With your driver-guide, head north through rolling farmland and watch the scenery change as you enter the heart of the Waipara Valley, known as a cool-climate wine region.
Taste a variety of wines at
three boutique wineries
Visit three carefully selected boutique wineries from among Waipara Springs, Torlesse, Pegasus Bay and Georges Road. At cellar doors, each with its own atmosphere, you can taste more than 15 wines, including Pinot Noir, Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Sauvignon Blanc.
Cellar hosts explain the region's limestone soils, long growing season and the winemaking behind each vintage.
Enjoy a platter lunch at
the Waipara Springs vineyard
Midway through the tour, relax in the peaceful vineyard setting at Waipara Springs over a platter lunch of local specialties. After lunch, tastings continue before you return to Christchurch, with drop-off in the city center around 5 pm.
