Te Pō is an evening experience at Te Puia lasting about 2.5 hours. After checking in at the Te Puia reception, you see, hear and experience Māori culture through a cultural performance, a walk to Pōhutu Geyser and a hāngī dinner buffet. The experience is suitable for all ages.

Watch a haka performance in a carved meeting house

The evening begins with a 30-minute cultural welcome and performance in the beautifully carved meeting house Te Aronui a Rua. Experience traditional Māori storytelling through pōwhiri (Māori welcome ceremony), waiata (songs), mōteatea (chants), poi and haka.

Enjoy hot chocolate by Pōhutu Geyser

After the performance, walk together to the active Pōhutu Geyser. Sip hot chocolate on the geyser terrace and soak up the evening atmosphere of the geothermal area.

Enjoy a hāngī buffet at Pātaka Kai Restaurant

Finally, enjoy a hāngī dinner buffet at Pātaka Kai Restaurant & Bar, overlooking the geothermal area. The buffet features fresh seasonal ingredients, meat and vegetables cooked the traditional way, kai moana (seafood) and a variety of desserts. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are available, and alcoholic and soft drinks can be purchased separately.
