Depart from Rotorua
and visit four geothermal and cultural sites in one day

After pickup from your accommodation in Rotorua between 8:00 AM and 8:30 AM, enjoy a scenic drive to Wai-O-Tapu with commentary from your guide. The tour ends with a return to the city between 3:30 PM and 4:00 PM.

Watch the Lady Knox Geyser erupt at Wai-O-Tapu

At Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland, walk with your guide for 1 hour to see colorful hot springs, boiling mud, and volcanic landscapes. Then head to the Lady Knox Geyser to watch the eruption that begins daily at 10:15 AM.

Walk through Waimangu Volcanic Valley and relax at the café

At Waimangu Volcanic Valley, take a 1-hour guided walk and learn about the 1886 eruption of Mount Tarawera. At noon, stop for lunch and a rest at the Waimangu Volcanic Valley café. Food and drinks are not included.

Discover Māori culture and the Pōhutu Geyser at Te Puia

In the afternoon, enjoy a guided tour of Te Puia. Visit the carving school, arts and crafts gallery, Rotowhio Marae, weaving exhibition, and kiwi house to learn about Māori culture and history, and see the Pōhutu Geyser. In line with the attraction’s policy, guiding at Te Puia is provided by on-site staff. Finish the day with a relaxing drive past local Rotorua sights.
