Walk among clear springs
and redwoods at Hamurana Springs
Meet your guide at the Rotorua i-SITE Visitor Centre and set off in an air-conditioned vehicle. Your first stop, Hamurana Springs, is the largest freshwater spring on the North Island. Stroll among towering redwood trees and see crystal-clear water flowing out at 4.5 million liters per hour, sparkling in shades of turquoise, jade and emerald.
Discover the waterfalls and cave of the Kaituna River
Next, head to the Kaituna River and walk through native New Zealand forest to a scenic lookout over the river. Watch the powerful waters of Okere Falls and Tutea Falls, then go down the Hinemoa Steps into the cave.
See the Blue Lake and Green Lake together
Travel to the Tarawera area, the site of New Zealand's most recent volcanic eruption, and view the Blue Lake and Green Lake lying side by side. You'll have plenty of time to take photos in the peaceful surroundings.
Return to Rotorua with views of Mount Tarawera
On the way back to Rotorua, enjoy views of Mount Tarawera and Lake Tarawera as your 4-hour tour comes to an end.
