You'll also visit the Pio-Clementino Museum, with classical sculpture masterpieces including the Apollo Belvedere and ancient rotunda sculptures, and the Belvedere Courtyard.

Admire Michelangelo's work in the Sistine Chapel

The highlight of the tour is the Sistine Chapel. Beneath Michelangelo's "The Creation of Adam" and "The Last Judgment", take in the quiet interior while recalling your guide's commentary. The 2-site options covering the Vatican Museums and the Sistine Chapel last about 2 hours or 2 hours 30 minutes.

Continue to St. Peter's Basilica and the dome

With a 3-site option, you'll go straight from the Sistine Chapel to St. Peter's Basilica via Bernini's Royal Staircase, once reserved for popes and royalty. Inside, see Michelangelo's "Pietà", Bernini's "Baldacchino" and the grand interior of this UNESCO World Heritage site. The 3-site options last about 3 hours.

The dome entry option is self-guided after the guided tour ends. Take the elevator up to the rooftop terrace, then climb the stairs for the final stretch to enjoy sweeping views over Vatican City and Rome. The total duration is about 4 hours.
