From Vancouver: Joffre Lakes Hiking Day Tour - Small Group

Head to Joffre Lakes
along the Sea-to-Sky Highway

After pickup at the designated location, cross the Lions Gate Bridge and drive the Sea-to-Sky Highway, famous for its views of the Pacific Ocean, the Coast Mountains and lush forests. The drive to the trailhead takes about 2 hours 30 minutes, with plenty of chances to enjoy the scenery and take photos. Lunch is not included, but you can stop at a drive-through or gas station on the way.

See the turquoise waters of the Lower and Middle Lakes

Just a 5-minute walk from the trailhead lies Lower Joffre Lake, surrounded by lush greenery and rugged peaks. Then hike about 1 hour up steeper, rockier sections to reach Middle Joffre Lake, known for its vivid blue water and dramatic backdrop of glaciers and mountains. Take photos on the famous log and swim if you like.

Rest and enjoy your packed lunch at a scenic spot near the Middle Lake. If you wish, your guide will take Instagram-worthy photos for you.

Admire the Matier Glacier at the Upper Lake

Climb several switchbacks and moderate inclines to Upper Joffre Lake, where the majestic Matier Glacier and pristine lake await. Rest here, enjoy the scenery and take more photos. After the hike, return along the Sea-to-Sky Highway, and depending on the time, you may see the sun set over the ocean.
