I had the good fortune of being shown around Seoul by Karen Seo, and barely an hour into meeting her I was already booking a second tour. She's fun, informative, and thoroughly professional, but what stayed with me is how she reads an evening and shapes it around you. A brutal heat wave and a long wait for the fried chicken meant our Chimaek plan fell apart, and I told her to improvise freely. She shifted gears at once, walking me through quiet alleyways to Neungdong Minari, a Michelin Bib Gourmand spot, then along the serene Cheonggyecheon for a cooling dip in the stream, ending in the buzz & vibrancy of Myeongdong. But it was Karen herself who made the night. A true polyglot, she moved easily between English & Mandarin, & patiently taught me a little Korean. She shares her city with such generosity, and above all a real sense of jeong 🫶, that by the end it felt less like a tour than time with a friend. Book her Gangnam Gourmet Tour too.
