From Shanghai: Suzhou Gardens & Water Town Private Day Tour - Bullet Train Included

Take the bullet train
to Suzhou

Meet your guide in your downtown Shanghai hotel lobby and transfer by private car to the station, then board a bullet train to Suzhou, which takes about 30 minutes. Round-trip bullet train tickets between Shanghai and Suzhou and an air-conditioned private vehicle with driver are included.

Stroll the UNESCO-listed Humble Administrator's Garden

Visit the Humble Administrator's Garden, one of Suzhou's classical gardens. Wander past Taihu rock gardens, pavilions, ponds, flowers and a bonsai garden while your guide shares the garden's history and culture. If you prefer a cozier garden, you can switch to another one such as the Master of the Nets Garden, the Lingering Garden or the Lion Grove Garden.

Experience local life in a water town and on Guanqian Street

Walk along stone-paved lanes beside the ancient canals, browse the water market, admire the distinctive Jiangnan architecture and learn about life and traditions in the water town. Then head to Guanqian Street, where old and modern pedestrian streets meet, and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant recommended by your guide.

Discover Tiger Hill, the Grand Canal and an old street

In the afternoon, see the leaning pagoda at the Tiger Hill scenic area and explore the old Wuzhong gate. If you wish, take a boat ride on the Grand Canal to view pagodas, old bridges, temples and traditional houses along the water.

After the boat ride, visit an old street full of arts, crafts and eateries, cross the "Lucky Bridge," see the old city wall and hear about local customs and history. At the end of the tour, return to Shanghai by bullet train and get dropped off at your downtown hotel or another downtown location.
