Discover colonial-era architecture
at the hilltop consular residence
This is an admission ticket to the British Consulate at Takao Cultural Park in Gushan District, Kaohsiung. The park consists of three areas: the hilltop consular residence, the hilltop office and a hiking trail. It was the first consulate built by the British government in Taiwan, and it is the only consulate complex in Taiwan where both the residence and the office are fully preserved.
Designated a national monument by Taiwan's Ministry of Culture in 2019, the consular residence lets you see how colonial-style architecture evolved in Taiwan.
