See Michelangelo's "David"
The highlight of the exhibition is the original of Michelangelo's "David". Carved in marble between 1501 and 1504, the statue stands more than 5 m tall and was moved to this gallery from Piazza della Signoria in 1873. Your guide tells you about the history of the work, its technique and the stories behind it.

With your guide, explore sculptures, paintings and religious art from various periods, including the Renaissance. The Accademia Gallery also displays Michelangelo's unfinished "Prisoners" (or "Slaves") sculptures, left over from his work on the tomb of Pope Julius II.
