An underwater observation facility in Karimata, northern Miyakojima, where you descend below the sea and look into the underwater world through 24 windows without changing your clothes. Of the more than 140 fish species recorded here, you can see around 60 on average depending on the season and time of day, and sea turtles appear about 30 times a year. A guide explains the day's sea conditions and fish ecology, so everyone from kids to seniors can comfortably enjoy the sea without diving.

Miyakojima Underwater Park is a facility where you can meet wild fish in their natural habitat at a depth of 3-5 m. The management building, designed after a turtle shell, houses the front desk and an exhibition lobby introducing Miyakojima's rich marine nature. From the entrance to the underwater world at the tip of the cape, go down the stairs to reach the observation facility about 4 m below the sea.

The observation facility is a spacious area 29.6 m wide and about 150 m². Through 24 windows, each 1.5 m high and 50 cm wide, you can see colorful tropical fish, octopus, sea cucumbers and many other sea creatures. Water visibility averages 15-20 m in summer and 20-25 m in winter, and in good sea conditions you can see more than 40 m away.

Inside the facility, a guide accompanies you and explains the day's sea conditions, fish species and ecology, and an overview of the facility. You can explore the underwater world without entering the water, so everyone from kids to seniors can enjoy it comfortably. The estimated visit time is about 45 minutes.

The facility has a craft corner where you can make your own one-of-a-kind piece (separate fee), and a souvenir corner selling handmade items made by staff such as shell crafts and handmade fiber sandals, as well as Miyakojima and ocean-themed goods. At the Seaside Cafe Kaiyu, you can enjoy local menus such as a poke bowl with tuna from Miyakojima waters, Miyako beef dishes and desserts made with Miyakojima mangoes, along with the ocean view.
※ Sea creatures live in the wild, so the species you see vary by season and time, and sightings are not guaranteed.
※ The park may close temporarily or shorten its hours due to typhoons or bad weather.
