This private tour of up to 12 hours starts with a pickup by your guide from your hotel in Yogyakarta and visits Borobudur Temple and Prambanan Temple in turn. Your group travels alone in an air-conditioned vehicle, and a guide speaking English, Spanish, German or French accompanies you and helps with temple entry and sightseeing. Bottled water and parking fees are included; temple tickets and meals are not.

Explore the terraces and stupas of Borobudur

After about an 80-minute drive from Yogyakarta, you spend about 3 hours at Borobudur Temple. Built in the Kedu Valley of southern Central Java during the Sailendra dynasty in the 8th–9th centuries, this Buddhist monument consists of five square terraces, three circular platforms and a large stupa at the top. Around the circular platforms stand 72 perforated stupas, each holding a Buddha statue, and the walls and balustrades are decorated with detailed reliefs. Listen to your guide and enjoy time for photos, walking and shopping.

See the Ramayana reliefs at Prambanan Temple

After about a 100-minute drive from Borobudur, you spend about 2 hours at Prambanan Temple. The Prambanan Archaeological Park includes Prambanan Temple, also known as Loro Jonggrang, as well as Sewu, Bubrah and Lumbung temples. The Hindu temples are decorated with stone reliefs depicting the Indonesian version of the Ramayana epic. After the guided tour, enjoy a break and free time, then drive about 1 hour back to Yogyakarta.
