Depart from Dublin and
see the highlights of Ireland's west coast in a day
Depart early in the morning from the Arlington Hotel in Dublin and head to Ireland's west coast by coach. Along the way, your guide explains Irish history, culture and traditions. You stop for about 15 minutes at the Barack Obama Plaza rest stop in County Tipperary to use the restroom and buy snacks or coffee.
Walk along the Cliffs of Moher above the Atlantic
The Cliffs of Moher stretch about 8 km along the Atlantic coast and rise more than 200 m. You stay about 1.5 hours, including a guided tour and free time, to enjoy the scenery from designated paths and viewpoints. On clear days you can see Galway Bay and the Aran Islands. Admission to the Visitor Centre and O'Brien's Tower is included.
Pass the limestone Burren and Dunguaire Castle
On the way to Galway, enjoy about 15 minutes of photo time in the Burren, known for its vast limestone landscape. You pass Dunguaire Castle, a 16th-century tower house on the shore of Galway Bay, from the coach.
Explore lively Galway at your own pace
You spend about 2 hours in Galway, including a guided tour and free time. Stroll the Latin Quarter, visit the area around Eyre Square and the Spanish Arch, or enjoy shops, cafés and pubs as you like. Lunch is not included and is at your own expense. After a 15-minute stop in Athlone, you return to Dublin and the tour ends at the Arlington Hotel.
