Batu Caves is one of Malaysia's main Hindu pilgrimage sites, with a 42 m golden statue of Lord Murugan at the entrance. Climb the 272 rainbow-colored steps lined with murals to reach the Hindu temple and shrines inside a huge limestone cave. Macaque monkeys live around the stairs.
Discover the Hindu epic at Ramayana Cave
A short walk from Batu Caves brings you to Ramayana Cave, guarded by a giant green statue of Hanuman. Inside, colorful sculptures and illuminated dioramas tell the story of the Ramayana, and you can explore at your own pace.
Relax in the rainforest at Kanching Waterfalls
After about a 20-minute drive, arrive at the Kanching Rainforest Reserve with its seven-tiered Kanching Waterfalls. Follow the forest trails to clear pools for a swim, relax at the easiest lower tier, or hike up to the quieter upper tiers. After the tour, it's about a 40-minute drive back to Kuala Lumpur; group tours drop off at the Petronas Twin Towers.
