Travel to the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur in an air-conditioned vehicle. Your English-speaking driver-guide introduces Malaysia's history, traditions and customs. Depending on group size, you travel by car, van or bus.
Choose a morning or afternoon departure, and either meet at the main entrance of Berjaya Times Square or get picked up from a designated hotel in central Kuala Lumpur.
Watch the traditional batik-making process
Your first stop is a batik workshop and showroom (East Coast Batik, Batik CHONG). Watch artisans print or hand-draw intricate patterns using wax and dye. Batik is an important part of Malaysia's cultural heritage.
Climb 272 steps to the Batu Caves
At the Batu Caves, your guide shares background stories and tips before you get free time to explore the cave complex. As you pass the giant golden Murugan statue and climb the 272 steps, meet playful macaque monkeys and enjoy views of the limestone cliffs.
Admire the Hindu temples and murals inside the caves
Inside the high-ceilinged main cave stand colorful Hindu temples. Admire murals and statues depicting Hindu stories and take in the unique atmosphere and architecture of the caves. Afterward, drive through local villages back to your original pickup point.
