After pickup from your hotel in central Kuala Lumpur, travel to Kuala Selangor in an air-conditioned van. The ride takes about 1 hour 30 minutes, and the tour runs in a small group of up to 15 people led by an English-speaking guide. On the way, you'll make a short stop at a scenic spot for photos.

Enjoy the sunset at Melawati Hill and by the river

Head up Melawati Hill to look around with your guide and enjoy the views. Then move to the riverside for a break of about 1 hour with time for dinner and the sunset. Meals are not included.

Meet the fireflies on the mangrove river

When darkness falls, board a boat at Kampung Kuantan Firefly Park and cruise along the mangrove river for about 1 hour. You can see thousands of tiny fireflies gathering on berembang trees and twinkling in rhythm. A local guide explains fireflies and the mangrove ecosystem as you enjoy the quiet atmosphere and cool evening breeze.

Watch the Blue Tears at the Selangor River estuary

After the firefly boat ride, move to the Selangor River estuary, where the river meets the Strait of Malacca, and board a boat again. You can watch the Blue Tears, a phenomenon in which tiny bioluminescent plankton glow blue in the water when disturbed. After the tour, return to Kuala Lumpur by van in about 1 hour 30 minutes.
