Malacca Day Tour from Kuala Lumpur - River Cruise & Peranakan Lunch

Depart from Kuala Lumpur
and explore UNESCO-listed Malacca

After pickup from your hotel in Kuala Lumpur, travel about 2 hours in an air-conditioned vehicle to Malacca. Start the day in the Civic Zone, home to the Portuguese fortress A Famosa and St. Paul's Church, then move on to Dutch Square with its red buildings to see the roughly 300-year-old Dutch church, known as the oldest Protestant church in Malaysia.

Stroll Harmony Street and taste a Peranakan lunch

Cross the river and walk along Harmony Street with your guide to see cultural landmarks such as Cheng Hoon Teng Temple, Kampung Kling Mosque and Sri Poyyatha Vinayagar Moorthi Temple. Then take a break with a Peranakan lunch full of Malaccan flavours.

Cruise the Malacca River and visit Kampung Morten

After lunch, take a 40-minute Malacca River cruise and enjoy the riverside views of bridges and shophouses. With luck, you may even spot monitor lizards. After the cruise, visit Kampung Morten, a traditional Malay village, and see Villa Sentosa, a living history museum of early 20th-century Malay life.

End the trip at Sin Hiap Hin Bar

Before heading back to Kuala Lumpur, stop at Sin Hiap Hin Bar, introduced as the oldest bar in Malacca, for the final moments of the trip. Drinks here are not included, so you can order on your own if you wish. Then travel about 2 hours back to Kuala Lumpur city centre.

※ The river cruise may be cancelled due to bad weather or dangerous water levels. In that case it is replaced by a visit to the Baba Nyonya Museum, and on Tuesdays when the museum is closed, by a local dessert tasting.
