Start the day at the Atacama Salt Flat
and Chaxa Lagoon
After pickup from your accommodation in San Pedro de Atacama, head to the Atacama Salt Flat. Explore the tranquil Chaxa Lagoon and watch the flamingos gathered at the water's edge.
Walk the Red Stones to the Aguas Calientes Salt Flat
Walk for about 1 hour 30 minutes across the Red Stones, a red landscape formed by volcanic material. The trek ends at the tranquil Aguas Calientes Salt Flat.
See the Miscanti and Miñiques Lagoons framed by volcanoes
Visit the Miscanti and Miñiques Lagoons in the highlands, set against majestic volcanoes. Along the way, stop at the villages of Toconao and Socaire and cross the Tropic of Capricorn.
All day long you'll travel surrounded by towering mountains and ancient volcanoes, with chances to see wildlife such as vicuñas, suris (rheas) and foxes up close. Breakfast and lunch are enjoyed in nature, and you'll return to town at the end of the tour.
