at the FITO Museum in Ho Chi Minh City

The FITO Museum, opened in 2007, is a museum of Vietnamese traditional medicine. It displays nearly 3,000 artifacts related to Vietnamese traditional medicine from the Stone Age to the present. The ticket includes a guided tour inside the museum with an English-speaking guide and lotus and reishi mushroom tea, and the combo option adds a herbal foot bath. The museum is open daily from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.

Browse nearly 3,000 traditional medicine artifacts

See printing molds and ceramics such as wine gourds, teapots, medicine bowls and lime jars, as well as objects used in the medicine trade like scales, medicine cabinets and advertising boards. Traditional medicine preparation tools, including knives, jars, mortars and pestles, decoction pots and jars for soaking medicinal wine, are displayed along with books and documents on traditional medicine.

See recreated scenes of traditional healers at work

Elaborate models, carefully recreated from images, engravings and artifacts, let you imagine how monks and physicians examined patients, provided treatment and prepared medicine. You can also discover the diverse flora and fauna of Vietnam and experience the traditional medical process.

Relax with tea in a traditional-style building

The museum is a 600 m² building in traditional Vietnamese style. Old wooden door frames with intricate motifs, brought from the Northern Delta, give the space an ancient and cozy feel. After your visit, enjoy lotus and reishi mushroom tea, and with the combo option, relax with a 15-20 minute herbal foot bath.
