The studio is just 15–20 minutes by car from District 1, making it easy to fit into your city itinerary.

Learn traditional Vietnamese woodcarving
in a quiet Tan Binh studio
This 3-hour woodcarving class takes place in a woodcraft studio in Tan Binh District that shares its space with the ceramics studio Hiên Concept. Learn to use traditional Vietnamese chisels from local artisans, then complete and take home a piece you designed yourself. Choose between Freestyle Wall Art and Vietnamese Folk Animal carving.
Pick a piece of reclaimed wood
and draw your own design

Start by choosing a piece of locally reclaimed driftwood or scrap wood, each with its own unique shape, from traditional to abstract. Unlike a strict class, you're free to design whatever you like, whether a symbolic animal, a spontaneous pattern, or something completely personal.
Carve with traditional chisels
alongside local artisans

Under the guidance of local artisans, carve your wood with traditional Vietnamese chisels. No experience is needed, as they patiently support every guest. Young Vietnamese creators and traditional woodcarvers who grew up surrounded by craft culture share stories, from the meaning of a dragon-tail carving to how to hold a chisel.
Add color, finish your piece,
and take it home

Once carving is done, add vibrant colors, burn the wood for contrast, or sand it smooth to finish your piece. Take your finished woodcarving home as a souvenir, and capture memories in the calm studio space where tea is served.
※ Sketch portraits drawn on wood, wooden display stands, and gold leaf finishing are optional extras and not included.
