This pottery experience takes place at the Nguyen Sau pottery workshop in Thanh Ha Pottery Village, a short drive from Hoi An Ancient Town. After admiring the works in a local artisan family's workshop, you'll shape your own pottery for about 20 minutes with the guidance of an instructor. Afterwards, you'll receive your handmade piece and a small gift, and you're free to explore the village.

For more than 500 years, families in Thanh Ha have shaped everyday pottery such as cups, bowls and pots using only their hands and feet, without molds. In the artisan's workshop, you can see pieces made with this traditional method up close.

Shape your own pottery

Following your host's guidance, you'll choose the right clay and learn how to shape your piece, and even how to paint and decorate it. No previous experience is needed.

The class usually lasts about 20 minutes, but you can extend the time to finish your piece if you wish. You can take your handmade pottery home as a souvenir.
