Cycle around Thuy Bieu Village

After pickup from your hotel in central Hue, spend about 3.5 hours cycling around Thuy Bieu, an old village on the upper Perfume River. After a drive of about 45 minutes, visit historic sites, a temple and country lanes while your English-speaking guide introduces village life and local history. At the end of the tour you are driven back to your hotel in central Hue.

Hear royal history at Ho Quyen and Long Chau Temple

Take photos at Ho Quyen, the arena where tigers and elephants once fought, then cycle on to Long Chau Temple. Your guide tells fascinating stories about these sites, which played an important role during Vietnam's last feudal dynasty.

Ride past bamboo groves and tea trees

Spend about an hour cycling through the village along quiet lanes lined with green bamboo, areca palms and Chinese tea trees. Your guide shares interesting facts about the plants, herbs and vegetables grown in the area.

Visit a Thanh Tra pomelo garden

The highlight of the tour is a visit to a garden house full of Thanh Tra pomelos, a Hue specialty. Smaller but sweeter than ordinary pomelos, they were historically reserved for the royal family. Depending on the itinerary, you also stop at a local eatery serving banh beo, banh nam and banh loc to taste Hue food.
