Climb the Odawara Castle Keep

This is an admission ticket to the keep of Odawara Castle in the heart of Odawara, Kanagawa. Explore the permanent exhibitions inside and enjoy the view from the top of the keep.

Hours of use are 09:00–16:30. A guided castle keep tour option is also available.

Stronghold of the Hojo clan

Odawara Castle was the residence of the Hojo clan, who dominated the Kanto region during the Warring States period, and served as the political center of southern Kanto for nearly a hundred years. After Toyotomi Hideyoshi's Odawara Conquest in 1590, it became an important castle guarding the road between Edo and Kyoto in the Edo period.

The permanent exhibitions inside the keep display various materials related to the history of Odawara.

Views from the top of the keep

The current keep was restored in 1960. From the top, you can see Odawara city as well as the Boso and Izu Peninsulas in the distance.

Take a walk through the castle park with its moats, gates and stone walls. It is also a popular cherry blossom spot in spring.
