Step back 100 years in Hokkaido
at the Historical Village

This is an admission ticket to the Historical Village of Hokkaido in Atsubetsu-ku, Sapporo, Hokkaido. Opened in 1983 to commemorate Hokkaido's 100th anniversary, this open-air museum is an experience park recreating the life, culture, industry and economic history of the pioneer era.

Opening hours are 9:00 to 17:00 from May to September and 9:00 to 16:30 from October to April, with last admission 30 minutes before closing.

From the town to fishing, farming and mountain villages

The village is divided into town, fishing village, farm village and mountain village areas. More than 50 valuable buildings, including houses, schools, factories and shops, have been relocated and restored, so just walking around feels like returning to Hokkaido 100 years ago.

You can also go inside the buildings to see how people lived at the time up close.

Horse-drawn railway and horse sleigh

Experience the transport of the pioneer era, such as the horse-drawn railway and horse sleigh. Riding a horse-drawn car through the old streets makes for a special memory.

Seasonal scenery and activities

Enjoy seasonal activities amid scenery that changes from fresh greenery and autumn leaves to snowy winter. Spend a day learning history and culture hands-on.
