Tumpak Sewu Waterfall & Mount Bromo 2-Day Tour from Malang - Hostel Stay Included

Descend to the base of Tumpak Sewu
and explore the hidden canyon of Goa Tetes

On day 1, you'll be picked up from your accommodation in Malang around 05:00–05:30 and head to Tumpak Sewu with other travelers. Around 08:00, enjoy the view and take photos from the viewpoint overlooking the semicircular falls, then follow jungle paths down and cross the river to trek to the base of the falls.

Around 11:00, explore Goa Tetes, a hidden canyon with natural springs, rock formations and small waterfalls. You'll return to Malang around 13:00.

Spend the night at a backpacker hostel in Malang

Around 16:00, check in at Shelter Hostel or Omah Suropati, backpacker hostels in central Malang. In the evening, you can mingle with other travelers while listening to acoustic guitar in the hostel's common area.

Greet the Bromo sunrise at King Kong viewpoint

On day 2, leave the hostel by jeep at 00:30 and arrive at King Kong Hill around 03:30. Take a short walk up to the viewpoint and watch the sunrise reveal Mount Bromo, Mount Batok and Mount Semeru through the morning mist. Around 06:00, move to Bukit Widodaren to view the Bromo caldera beyond volcanic ridges and rugged terrain.

Walk the Bromo crater, Sea of Sand and savanna

Around 07:00, walk about 2 km toward Mount Bromo, then climb about 200 steps (one way) to the crater rim and look down into the steaming crater. Next, walk across the Sea of Sand and enjoy free time in the green grasslands of the Bromo Savanna around 09:30. You'll head back to Malang around 11:00.
