Leave Malang before sunrise
and greet the first light at Mount Bromo
You'll be picked up from your hotel in Malang and drive for about 2 hours. In Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park, hike the Bromo hills for about 3 hours and watch the sunrise over Mount Bromo, Mount Semeru and the surrounding volcanic landscape.
Enjoy horse riding and off-roading on the Sea of Sand
After sunrise, head down to Bromo's vast Sea of Sand for about 2 hours of photos and free time. If you wish, you can ride a horse across the Sea of Sand toward Mount Bromo. You'll also enjoy an off-road ride by jeep across the volcanic area.
Admire Tumpak Sewu, the "Thousand Waterfalls"
Drive about 2 hours to Tumpak Sewu Waterfall. View the falls cascading from green cliffs surrounded by tropical scenery and volcanic terrain from the viewpoint, and if you want more adventure, head down closer to the falls. After about 3 hours, return to Malang, with the option to eat or shop in Malang Regency on the way at extra cost.
