This 3-hour wood carving class takes place at WS Art Studio in Lodtunduh village near Ubud. A Balinese master carver introduces the ancient art of wood carving and guides beginners step by step to find and carve the mask, animal or shape hidden in each block of wood. All tools and materials are provided, and classes are limited to 7 participants.

Carve your own piece with a master

Wood carving in Bali is a skill passed down through generations of families, famous for the intricate carvings that decorate homes and temples across the island. Your instructor shares the philosophy and traditions behind the carvings, demonstrates each technique and helps you along the way. Families of all ages and skill levels are welcome.

Enjoy Balinese snacks during the class

Enjoy a welcome drink of coffee, tea or water, along with Balinese fried pineapple and fried banana with palm sugar. Alcoholic drinks are available for purchase.

Take home your creation and a certificate

At the end of the class, take home the piece you carved as a souvenir along with a certificate. It is a unique keepsake you can't buy at any market.
