Visit Koh Tao's snorkeling spots
by boat in a single day
Get picked up from your hotel lobby on Koh Tao and ride to SangThong Tours at Mae Haad Pier. After a quick health check and a safety briefing of about 30 minutes, board a converted fishing boat and head to the first snorkeling spot. The tour lasts about 7 hours with an English- and Thai-speaking guide.
Walk the beach of Koh Nang Yuan and climb to the viewpoint
On Koh Nang Yuan, northwest of Koh Tao, stroll the sandy beach that connects three islands and hike to the viewpoint on top of the highest one. Swim at spots with tropical fish, including the famous Japanese Gardens, or simply relax on the beach. You spend about 2 hours at Koh Nang Yuan.
Have lunch on board and head to Mango Bay
Enjoy a Thai lunch on the boat on the way to Mango Bay. The shallow water and sandy seabed near the shore give the bay its turquoise color, and its rich marine life makes it a great place to snorkel.
Meet marine life at Hin Wong Bay, Ao Leuk and Shark Bay
Ao Hin Wong on the east coast is a bay surrounded by large boulders, where you can see many kinds of fish around underwater pinnacles covered with coral and anemones. Ao Leuk is a deep, concave bay that is good for snorkeling even at very low tide, with white sand and Shark Island in the background.
Before returning to the pier, stop at Shark Bay. Blacktip reef sharks and sea turtles often visit, so with luck you can swim with them. After the tour, you are driven back to your hotel.
