The Southern Branch of the National Palace Museum is a modern cultural landmark showcasing Asian art and civilization. It presents artifacts from China, Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia and South Asia through a range of exhibitions and interactive displays, offering a fresh perspective on Asia's cultural exchange and artistic heritage.

Explore architecture inspired by ink paintings and the park

Located in Taibao City, Chiayi, the Southern Branch features a streamlined design inspired by traditional ink paintings. The site covers about 70 hectares, made up of a 20-hectare museum zone and a 50-hectare park. The museum building was designed by architect Kris Yao.

See themed exhibitions from the museum's collection

The Southern Branch borrows from the Northern Branch's three main collections, paintings and calligraphy, artifacts and documents, to hold large-scale themed exhibitions. The special exhibition is included in every option.

Audio guide + 10% off gift shop option

The audio guide is available in Mandarin, Taiwanese, Hakka, English, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Thai, Burmese, Indonesian and more.
