Ride a minibus from Abisko
for Arctic ecology and the northern lights
This roughly 3.5-hour tour leaves from Abisko, and a small group of up to 8 takes a minibus to areas with good conditions. Rather than simply chasing clear skies, the guide explains why the Arctic looks the way it does, covering the Arctic ecosystem and the aurora together. Warm drinks and snacks are included.
Explore the world under the snow at your feet

Hear from your guide how snow protects the life beneath it and how the Arctic climate system works. You also learn how rapid change is already altering this fragile environment. The tour may include short walks on uneven, snow-covered ground.
Look up at the Milky Way and the aurora

Between stops, you take in both extremes of the Arctic night, from what happens beneath the snow underfoot to the Milky Way stretching across the dark sky. If the aurora appears, the guide also talks about how it forms and the forces at work between the sun and the Earth.
A small group lets the route stay flexible

The group is kept to a maximum of 8 people so the route can be adjusted to the weather conditions that night. Extra warm clothing and footwear can be provided if needed, and you can enjoy warm drinks and snacks.
※ The northern lights are a natural phenomenon and sightings cannot be guaranteed.
※ If the minimum of 2 participants is not met, the tour is cancelled with a full refund.
