Walk Through Old Seoul's Alleys with a Seoul-Born Local

This is a roughly 3-hour walking tour with a guide born and raised in Seoul through Jogyesa Temple, Cheonggyecheon, Ikseon-dong and Jongno 3-ga to feel the atmosphere of old Seoul. Stroll past a temple, a stream, hanok alleys and retro streets, and take photos along the way. The guide speaks English and Korean, and groups are limited to 6 people.

Start at Jogyesa Temple and walk along Cheonggyecheon

The tour begins at Jogyesa Temple, the center of Korean Buddhism. Feel the quiet atmosphere in the middle of downtown Seoul and hear about the temple's everyday customs and traditions from your guide.

Next, walk along a section of Cheonggyecheon to see how the old downtown and modern Seoul exist side by side. Take your time and stop to take photos along the way.

Free time in the hanok alleys of Ikseon-dong

Move on to Ikseon-dong, where narrow alleys are lined with traditional hanok houses, retro signs, small shops and cafes. During the 30 minutes of free time, have a coffee or browse the shops.

After the break, walk through the maze-like alleys with your guide and take photos. The guide can also help you take pictures with your phone.

Finish at Jongno 3-ga Pocha Street around sunset

As the sun goes down, walk toward Jongno 3-ga. See the neon signs come on, old restaurants fill with locals and the pocha street come alive. After the tour, your guide can recommend nearby restaurants, the pocha street or other places worth exploring.
