Meet at the Westgate entrance in front of the Tower of London Shop for a tour of about 1 hour 30 minutes. Explore the outer grounds of the Tower after the crowds have left at night, and hear the castle's history from your Yeoman Warder (Beefeater) guide, one of the guardians who have lived inside the Tower for centuries.

Hear tales of lions, elephants, royal jewels and tragedy

Hear about the lions and elephants that once lived here, why the Crown Jewels are kept here, and the women who met tragic deaths in the fortress. Learn how the royal palace became an infamous prison and hear about the castle's famous ghosts.

Pass the White Tower and Traitors' Gate

Pause outside the White Tower to hear about the history of this iconic castle and its arms collection, and learn the story of Traitors' Gate, which became the gate through which prisoners were taken to execution.

Watch the 700-year-old Ceremony of the Keys

The tour concludes with the Ceremony of the Keys, known as the oldest military ceremony in the world. Watch the Yeoman Warders recite the traditional words and hand the keys to the Chief Warder. After the tour, you return to the meeting point.
