This day tour departs from Hakata Station in Fukuoka and visits three mythical spots around Takachiho in Miyazaki Prefecture in one day. See the giant natural rock arch Ugeto-iwa at Kamishikimi Kumanoimasu Shrine in a cedar forest, then stroll Takachiho Gorge with its basalt cliffs and waterfall. A shuttle runs between the viewpoint and parking lot, so you don't have to walk uphill on the way back. In the afternoon, visit Amano Iwato Shrine and Amano Yasukawara, linked to the legend of Amaterasu.

A mystical shrine in a cedar forest:
Kamishikimi Kumanoimasu Shrine
Depart at 8:00 from Lawson in front of Hakata Station and arrive at Kamishikimi Kumanoimasu Shrine after about 80 minutes. Spend about 40 minutes along the approach lined with towering cedars. The most iconic spot is Ugeto-iwa, a huge natural rock arch believed to help overcome obstacles and grant wishes.
Stroll Takachiho Gorge at a relaxed pace
Arrive at Takachiho Gorge around 11:50 and stay about 1 hour 50 minutes. Walk while admiring the basalt cliffs and waterfall above the emerald river. A dedicated shuttle runs between the viewpoint and parking lot, so you can return without walking uphill. With the wagyu lunch option, you enjoy a Miyazaki beef lunch here.
Visit Amano Iwato, the stage of mythology
Around 14:00, spend about 1 hour at Amano Iwato Shrine and Amano Yasukawara, where the sun goddess Amaterasu is said to have hidden. Walk the riverside path lined with stone towers carrying visitors' wishes and feel the quiet atmosphere. You arrive back at Hakata Station around 18:00.
