From Porto: Douro Valley Wineries & River Cruise Tour (Hotel Pickup Option)

After meeting at the meeting point in Porto or being picked up at your accommodation, travel about 100 minutes by van to the Douro Valley. The Douro Valley is the world's first demarcated wine region, with terraced vineyards lining the river. A live guide accompanies the tour, which runs in small groups.

Visit 2 family-run wineries

First, spend about 1.5 hours at Quinta do Fôjo exploring the winery and tasting its wines. Hear the winemaker share the story behind the estate and the region's winemaking traditions, and taste Douro wines, local olive oil and products from nearby producers. Then stop briefly at Miradouro de Adorigo to photograph the Douro River and the valley.

Enjoy wine and lunch among the vineyards

Spend about 2 hours at Quinta do Laranjo enjoying a traditional farm-to-table lunch made with Douro wines and local ingredients. Along with the wine tasting, you can try a Porto Tonic at the winery, and vegan and vegetarian menus are available.

Take a 1-hour river cruise in Pinhão

Drive along the N222 to Pinhão, a picturesque village in the Douro Valley. Sip sparkling wine on a 1-hour boat cruise on the Douro River and admire the terraced vineyards and riverside scenery from the water. After the program, return to Porto by van, possibly stopping at Miradouro São Cristovão on the way back.
