Explore Australia's largest freshwater exhibit and an abundance of aquatic animals. Meet sea turtles on a 30-minute guided tour of the Turtle Rehabilitation Center! All the turtles here are rescued children. Take time to learn about the risks sea turtles face, including plastic ingestion, boat collisions, and habitat loss. If you purchase a turtle hospital package ticket, you can meet cute sea turtles.
Turtle Hospital tours start daily at 11:30 AM and 12:30 PM. Please arrive 15 minutes early!
Largest coral biobank
Cairns Aquarium protects all 415 species of Great Barrier Reef hard coral. Learn the story behind how all hard corals were protected for the first time in the world through a 30-minute guided tour. Discover the largest collection of hard corals at the Coral Biobank, which is operated with state-of-the-art systems.
The coral biobank tour starts at 11:30 am every day. Please arrive 15 minutes early!

Walking - Cairns Aquarium is within easy walking distance of most accommodations. It's one block from the Esplanade.
Car - Free 3 hours of street parking near the aquarium or open parking with a drop-off area and disabled parking near the main entrance.
Bus - The terminal is located one block from Lake St.

- Children under 2 years old can enter for free. All children must be accompanied by an adult (18 years or older).
- Cairns Aquarium is stroller and wheelchair accessible.
- Smoking (including electronic cigarettes) is prohibited anywhere on the aquarium grounds, including outdoor areas not designated as smoking areas.
- Pets are not allowed at Cairns Aquarium. This excludes certified service animals and emotional support animals upon presentation of certification documentation and an identification jacket for the service animal.
- The following items are not permitted at Cairns Aquarium - clothing containing offensive or vulgar language, alcoholic beverages, tobacco, recreational drugs; Roller blades, roller skates, wheelies, skateboards, children's scooters, hoverboards, laser pens and pointers, noise makers, balloons, bubbles.
