From April to October, you can also enjoy views of Paris from the newly restored upper floors.

An audio guide is not included but can be rented on-site for €4 (available in 11 languages, including Korean and Japanese).

Built as a church dedicated to St. Genevieve at the request of King Louis XV, the Panthéon was designed by architect Jacques-Germain Soufflot (1713–1780). During the French Revolution in 1791, it lost its religious character and was renamed the Panthéon. In the 19th century, it alternated several times between serving as a religious building and a patriotic monument. Inside, you can also see an exhibition introducing Soufflot's career and achievements.

Following the death of Victor Hugo in 1885, the Panthéon became the final resting place for French writers, scientists, generals, churchmen, and politicians. The crypt contains the tombs of more than 70 notable figures, including Voltaire, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Émile Zola, Alexandre Dumas, Pierre Curie, and Marie Curie.

From the recently restored upper floors, you can enjoy stunning views of the city of Paris. The upper floor is open from April to October.
