Depart Bondi
for the South Coast
In the morning, gear up at Dive Centre Bondi, meet your fellow divers and set off for Shellharbour. After a scenic drive of about 2 hours along the south coast, you arrive at Bushrangers Bay. All dive equipment is provided, so there is no need to carry heavy gear.
Make two guided shore dives
Follow your dive guide on two guided shore dives to observe the local grey nurse shark population, with a break of about an hour between dives. These slow-moving, gentle sharks live in groups of up to 20 not far from the shoreline.
Swim with sharks in a protected reserve
Grey nurse sharks are a protected species in New South Wales, and Bushrangers Bay is a protected reserve known for frequent shark sightings. Watch the sharks glide peacefully around you, and in a small group it is easy to get help and tips from your guide. After the dives, travel about 2 hours back to Bondi.
