From Queenstown: True South Milford Sound Scenic Flight & Cruise

Look down on the Southern Alps and Fiordland
from a window seat

Travel about 30 minutes by van from your central Queenstown accommodation or a designated pickup point, then board your plane. Every seat is a guaranteed window seat, so you can enjoy sweeping views of the Southern Alps and Fiordland National Park during the roughly 40-minute flight.

This area is so remote that much of it can only be seen from the air. Before descending into the Sound, take in the surrounding peaks and lush native bush.

Enjoy a 1 hour 45 minute cruise
on Milford Sound

After landing at Milford Sound Airport, take a shuttle or a short 15-minute nature walk to the terminal. Then board a modern catamaran for a 1 hour 45 minute cruise beneath waterfalls and right below the iconic Mitre Peak.

The skipper shares the history of the Sound, and you can look out for dolphins, seals and penguins along the way. Cruising on one of the smaller boats on the Sound means better views and more comfort.

Return to Queenstown
on a scenic flight

When the cruise ends, your pilot will be waiting for another scenic flight of about 40 minutes back to Queenstown. A free shuttle then takes you back to your accommodation, leaving plenty of time to enjoy the evening.
