After pickup from your central Queenstown accommodation one hour before departure, a local pilot walks you through the route and scenic highlights on a wall map. The modern Cessna has a 1-2 seating layout so every seat has a view, and in winter the aircraft is pre-heated before take-off.

After bird's-eye views of the Southern Lakes and Milford Sound, land beneath the 1,692 m Mitre Peak. Time permitting, walk through the bush to the wharf and learn about the local environment.

Explore the fiord for 1 hour 45 minutes on a small boat with a wildlife guide. Look out for seals, dolphins and, if you are lucky, the rare Fiordland crested penguin. Feel the power of Stirling Falls up close and visit the wheelhouse to learn how the boat is operated.

and return by a different route

During the cruise, enjoy a picnic lunch and complimentary tea or coffee and water from your reserved seat, while taking in towering cliffs and native beech forest.

The return flight to Queenstown follows a different route, revealing secluded alpine lakes and the 580 m Sutherland Falls. You are dropped back at your accommodation on arrival.
