Depart Auckland
and head to Rotorua
Meet your driver-guide at your hotel in downtown Auckland (CBD) and travel by minivan through the Waikato to Rotorua. On arrival, you have about 30 minutes to look around the area and take photos. Bottled water and light refreshments are provided along the way.
Discover Māori culture and geothermal landscapes
at Whakarewarewa Village
Whakarewarewa is a village where a Māori community still lives today. Spend about 2.5 hours exploring the village with a local guide and learn about Māori traditions, customs and daily life.
See geothermal features such as bubbling mud pools, erupting geysers and steaming vents, and hear the Māori myths and stories tied to each one. In the village, you can also watch a performance of traditional songs and dances including the haka (performance included depending on your option).
Choose your afternoon activity by option
After the village visit, enjoy one more activity in the afternoon according to the option you booked. Walk the walkways suspended among towering redwoods on the Redwoods Treewalk, or soak in natural mineral-rich geothermal pools at the Polynesian Spa.
With the Wai-O-Tapu option, you first visit Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland, about 20 minutes' drive from Rotorua, in the morning to see geothermal features such as the Champagne Pool, and then visit the Māori village in the afternoon. The Māori Village Tour & Performance option does not include a second activity, so you can freely explore Rotorua city, its shops, cafés, Rotorua Museum and the Government Gardens in the afternoon.
Pass through Rotorua and return to Auckland
A Rotorua city tour and pickup and drop-off between activities are included. At the end of the day, return with your group through the Waikato to Auckland, a drive of about 3 hours.

※ To add a second activity to the Māori Village Tour & Performance option, you must pay on the day.
