After pickup from a designated hotel in Rotorua, head to Wai-O-Tapu Thermal Wonderland. Watch the Lady Knox Geyser erupt, then explore the Champagne Pool, the Devil's Bath, mud pools and geothermal craters with your guide. You spend about 105 minutes here.
Stop at Lake Taupo and Huka Falls
Travel south to Lake Taupo, New Zealand's largest lake and in fact a huge volcanic crater. Enjoy about 75 minutes of free time to buy lunch, and learn about the area's volcanic history on a Taupo highlights tour.
Heading north again, stop for about 25 minutes at Huka Falls, one of New Zealand's most popular waterfalls, for photos.
