Rika and I built an itinerary that was more suited to my taste, local spots and fun fashion! We had such a good time laughing and joking all afternoon, it was more like hanging out with an old friend than a tour guide. If you book 6 hours or less, please ask for Rika!

Hina was outstanding. She took us to all the places we had planned to go to. Additionally, she was very helpful with getting us sorted with train cards and how to use the trains in Japan- which made a massive difference to our holiday experience. She is highly recommended

We had an amazing first day in Tokyo with Rika. Thanks to her guidance, we got a great feel for the city. She helped us navigate the metro and trains and taught us about local customs. She showed us authentic, less touristy areas, and we also got to taste some local food. Our two teenage boys were initially reluctant about having a private guide, but they ended up loving the tour, and Rika. It didn’t feel like we had a guide, but rather a friend showing us around. She went above and beyond, sending us lots of additional information and useful links after the tour, which we greatly appreciated. We would absolutely recommend her. Keep up the great work, Rika!

Our family of 5 really enjoyed our private tours of the Tokyo National Museum, the Kanda Shrine & the Imperial Palace grounds over two days with Konon. She was friendly, knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. She also kindly took our kids, all in their twenties, vintage shopping and to a delicious curry lunch in Shimokitazawa. They loved it and learned so much about Japanese culture from her. Highly recommend requesting Konon for your Tokyo touring!

Our guide Konan was very friendly and knowledgeable. Our family of 5 had a great experience over 2 days touring the Tokyo National Museum, the Kanda Myoujin Shrine and the Imperial Palace. Konan was super flexible and helpful, even generously going along with our twenty something kids to some vintage shops in Shimokitazawa. We all enjoyed spending time with her and learned so much about Japanese culture and lifestyle. We greatly appreciated the kindness she showed our family and would highly recommend her as a guide.

Plan around your interests and
walk Tokyo with a local guide

After booking, tell the team your interests and the places you would like to visit, and your guide will plan the tour to fit the duration you booked. Usually a few days before the tour, your guide will contact you on WhatsApp to introduce themselves and confirm the plan. Time at each stop is adjusted flexibly so you can explore at a relaxed pace.

Meet at your hotel and travel by public transport

Your guide meets you at your hotel in central Tokyo or a preferred meeting point in Tokyo and travels with you by public transport. At the start, the guide helps you buy or top up an IC card such as Suica or PASMO and use trains and subways. Train and subway fares are not included and are expected to be about ¥500-1,500 per person.

Visit temples, shrines, landmarks and hidden neighborhoods

Choose from famous sights such as Senso-ji and Asakusa, Ueno and Ameya-Yokocho, Akihabara, Shibuya Crossing, Harajuku, Meiji Jingu, Tsukiji Outer Market, Ginza, the Imperial Palace and Shinjuku, as well as local neighborhoods tourists rarely see. Admission to temples and shrines on your agreed itinerary is included.

Your guide shares stories of Tokyo's culture and history and takes photos of you along the way. You will also get personal recommendations for the rest of your time in Japan.
