Shanghai French Concession Evening Walking Food Tour: Xiaolongbao & Local Eateries

Start at Jiashan Road Station
and find hidden eateries in the French Concession

The tour starts at 18:30 at Jiashan Road Metro Station in the heart of the French Concession. Walk with your guide through a neighborhood of old houses and lanes mixed with trendy markets, cafés and bars, and visit local favorites tucked away out of sight. Enjoy unlimited beer and soft drinks throughout the tour.

Taste xiaolongbao and Shanghai-style noodles and dumplings

Try xiaolongbao, Shanghai's signature dish, at the locals' favorite dumpling shop and learn how to tell a good dumpling from a great one. Sample a variety of carb dishes such as scallion oil noodles, dumplings with sesame sauce and local curry, and peek into the kitchen where pan-fried dumplings are made using a process listed as local intangible cultural heritage.

Enjoy authentic Shanghai dishes and a handmade dessert

Taste a pork belly dish, one of Shanghai's most popular dishes that takes all day to prepare, along with other Shanghai-style dishes made with fresh ingredients. Then visit a neighborhood dessert shop that makes everything from scratch without pre-made ingredients and try chilled sago cream topped with fresh mango and pomelo.

End the night at a craft beer taphouse

Finally, wrap up the tour at a 15-seat craft beer taphouse near South Shaanxi Road Metro Station, tasting the evolution of China's microbrewery scene.
