Singapore J2 Studio Terrarium Making Workshop

Create your own miniature garden
at J2 Studio

A terrarium is a small, self-contained ecosystem inside a glass container. In this workshop, an instructor guides you through how terrariums work as you complete your own piece to display at home. The workshop runs by appointment and lasts about 2 hours.

Choose a glass container and build the layers

First choose a terrarium container such as a glass globe or mason jar, then layer pebbles for drainage, activated charcoal for purification and a special soil mix for healthy plants. Add layers of decorative sand in different colours for a beautiful finish.

Finish with plants and decorations

Select and arrange miniature tropical plants, mosses, rocks and figurines. The instructor shares tips on layering for plant health and visual appeal. One figurine of your choice is provided free, and you take your finished terrarium home in a paper bag with a care sheet.

※ Workshops are conducted by appointment only.
※ If you are more than 30 minutes late, you will need to re-book another date for an additional charge.
