Program
Depart from Guilin
and head to the Longji Rice Terraces
After pickup from your hotel in Guilin, travel about 2 hours by vehicle to the Longji Rice Terraces. Stretching from the foot of the mountains to their peaks, these terraces are designated a Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System. Walk along the paths between the fields to see the age-old farming culture, or climb higher to look out over the mountains and terraces.
The exact pickup time depends on your hotel location and will be sent via WhatsApp the day before the tour.
Discover Red Yao culture in Huangluo Yao Village
Spend about 2 hours with your guide in Huangluo Yao Village, the only Yao village among the 13 villages of Longji. Surrounded by green mountains and filled with houses built on stilts, the village is known for its Red Yao culture.
Red Yao women cut their hair only once, at the age of 18, and keep the tradition of coiling their long hair up for good fortune.
Look out over the terraces from the viewpoints of Jinkeng Dazhai
Spend about 2 hours with your guide exploring Jinkeng Dazhai, the largest area of the Longji Rice Terraces. There are three viewpoints here. You can hike up to Xishan Shaole, walk a gentle path to Qiancheng Titian, or take the cable car up to Jinfoding.
The Jinkeng cable car is optional and costs 100 CNY per person, paid on site. After the visit, travel about 2 hours by vehicle back to Guilin.
※ The Ping'an option visits the Ping'an area instead of Jinkeng Dazhai.
