Meet your guide in the lobby of your downtown Shanghai hotel at your requested time to begin the tour. Depending on the option you book, you travel by metro or private vehicle. Shanghai's metro is clean and fast, and is sometimes even quicker than a car. You can choose a guide who speaks English, Spanish, French, Italian or German.

Stroll through Yu Garden and the Yuyuan Bazaar

Built in 1559, Yu Garden is the largest and best-known historic garden in Shanghai. The bazaar next to it is filled with small shops selling souvenirs, handicrafts, folk crafts and packaged snacks.

See the jade Buddha statues at the Jade Buddha Temple

Built during the Qing dynasty, the Jade Buddha Temple is one of the most famous Buddhist temples in Shanghai. It houses two Buddha statues, one seated and one reclining, made of jade brought across the sea from Myanmar (Burma). Go up Shanghai Tower and walk the French Concession and the Bund

After a lunch of shengjian bao (pan-fried buns), a local Shanghai dish, go up to the observation deck of Shanghai Tower, the tallest building in China, for a view over the city. In the late afternoon, take a walk through the French Concession and along the Bund. At the end of the tour, your guide takes you back to your hotel, and you are free to keep exploring the Bund area in the evening if you like.
